To me “Dark Shadows” looks fantastic. I’m excited to see Burton return to outright comedy with his ghoulish flair. Johnny Deep, Eva Green, and Helena Bonham Carter look like they’re having a massive amount of fun. Plus, I’m always delighted to see Michelle Pfeiffer.

Here’s a film that should be re-released in 3D, Tim Burton’s 1988 comedy-horror-masterpiece Beetle Juice. This was the first “real” movie I remember seeing. The scene where Michael Keaton’s trickster ghoul transfigures himself into the banister scared me so much my mother had to stop the tape, let me calm down from hyperventilating, rewind the tape, and play the scene again. We did this freak out and rewind dance about SEVEN times. She was determined for me to watch this movie. That banister Beetle Juice scene would be kick ass in 3D. I’m just saying…
