“No guns. No killing” -Batman, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES When we go in public we shouldn’t have to fear getting shot. Whether it’s a movie theater, a bus, or sitting on your own porch, people have a right to feel safe. That’s what The Dark Knight Trilogy is about- Bruce Wayne’s drastic actions to save his city from violence, corruption, and those who prey on the fearful. Nolan’s Batman is a symbol to wake US up from apathy and take part in saving our cities. What happened in Colorado at the midnight screening (and what happens every day in Chicago and other cities) was tragic and twists my insides because I believe the city can be saved- if we act.
